The King of the Lake: the Lake Garda Carp


 

A fter having become a chimera, the King of the Lake, the Lake Garda Carp, is back on the Altogarda tables thanks to a precise project of reintroduction, protection and conservation of this endemic species (which can’t be fished) together with its breeding.

The German people call it Gardaseeforelle, to underline the uniqueness of this variety even more. It lives only and exclusively in these waters which make it the most exquisite lake fish all over the world. Its growth is pretty slow (it takes about 3 years averagely to get a 450 - gram fish), and the meat is pale and delicate, as well as rich in polyunsaturated fats and Omega 3.

This excellence of our lake, whose meat can be tasted and reinterpreted in different ways, will be soon among the undisputed protagonists of Garda con Gusto - Gourmet Experience.
